Merrimack Sno-Buds Snowmobile Club Meeting Minutes 12/14/05

Meeting called to order at 7:30PM by Club President Rick DiOrio

NOTICE: The next regular Club meeting is on January 11th at Wasserman Park at 7:30PM.

ATTENDANCE: 19 members present. PREVIOUS

MEETING MINUTES: Minutes from November 23, '05 presented. Motion made to accept minutes. Motion seconded and carried.

BILLS: None pre$ented. A sinister snicker is overheard.

COMMUNICATIONS: Received labor check from Grass Drags committee, $2687.50 for 268.75 hrs worked. - Thank You from Town of Merrimack for fuel assistance donation. - From NHSA, volunteer immunity form. - Thank You from state disaster relief committee for donation to October flood asistance fund. - Info on races at Canaan Fair Speedway on January (scmracing.com). - Webster House seeking donations. - NH Easter Seals newsletter.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: Trailmaster's Report: No report.

Membership: 61 paid members. - Bob Scarchilli to pick up memberships from Hudson Cycle. Eric M to pick them up from Polaris of Nashua.

Publicity: Need more "stuff" for February. UPDATE: Story submitted, but we still have 2 more issues of the Sno-Traveler to go!

Activities: Trips to Sportsman and other northern destinations over the holidays. Gates reported open at Baker River. Check your email often on upcoming trips

Safety: 54 students graduated from OHRV safety course. $580 in donations raised. - Two snowmobiling fatalities reported; 1 related to speed and alcohol and the other was a 15-year-old on his own property! 14 snowmobilers caught in Hollis for not having current registrations ($120 fine!).

Fund Raising: It was reported that club has donated over $200,000 to Easter Seals and local charities. - Approx $7000 for Camp Sno-Mo, currently. Looking for more! - Raffle tix available. - Donation solicitation ready. Please contact $heldon or Newt if you need one or two, or twenty.

UNFINISHED/OLD BUSINESS: Reminder that signs can still be made up.

NEW BUSINESS: Motion made by Eric Mortenson to allocate another $1000 to the Merrimack fuel assistance fund. Motion seconded by Bob Scarchilli and carried. - Motion made, seconded and carried to table discussion on balance of grass drags proceeds until a later date. - Horsehill Nature Preserve: Ground rules of "Definitive Plan" discussed at a recent town meeting. Trail cannot be improved until the plan in finalized and approved. Parking lot on Amherst Rd is now open and will be plowed by town. - Pres DiOrio to call BOD meeting to review by-laws and discuss updates believed to be necessary.

COUNTY MEETING: Membership cards should go to both husband AND wife (when family joins) - Warren to Woodstock trail is nearly complete (should be done early Jan '06). - 2006 grass drags & water crossings set for October 6, 7,8. - Member-At-Large dues increased (amount not mentioned). - Trail patrols to start up again. - Clough State Park to be site of vintage sled ride in January. - Next county meeting will be in Merrimack on January 30th.

W/E RIDING PLANS: Watch your email for ride announcements! Motion made to adjourn meeting around 8:15. Motion was seconded and it carried.
