Merrimack Sno-Buds Snowmobile Club Meeting Minutes 11/09/05

Meeting called to order at 7:34PM by Club President Rick DiOrio

NOTICE: The next regular Club meeting is on November23rd at Wasserman Park at 7:30PM.

ATTENDANCE: 15 members present.

PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: Minutes from October 26, '05 presented. Motion made by Dave Connelly to accept minutes. Motion seconded by John Livingston and carried.

NEW BILLS: One pre$ented. $heldon grimmaced. Bill for stamps (by George). Motion made, seconded and carried. $heldon grimmaced some more.

COMMUNICATIONS: Trailmaster meeting announcement. Motion made to pay for $25 meal for attendees. Motion seconded and carried. (More grimmacing from $heldon) - Announcement for Merrimack Holiday Parade. Eric M to respond that we'll participate. He'll also notify Newt about using the 4-place trailer. - Easter Seals annual dinner on 11/29. No takers to attend. - Mention made that Ed Web is selling off his collection of 600 sleds (almost as many as George has owned). Google search should hook you up. Sleds are being sold off 200 (if I remember correctly) at a time. Own a piece of snowmobiling history!

COMMITTEE REPORTS: Trailmaster's Report: No report.

Membership: RJ's checked. Best Cycles does OHRV registrations now.

: Need "stuff" for January. Got any interesting tales from the trails? (The first time I typed in "trails" I forgot the t and had rails. Must have been thinking of George and his fun on the tracks.)

Activities: Holiday Parade coming up on December 4th. Looking for "float" riders and a couple of sleds to toss on the trailer. Let Eric ( emortenson57@hotmail.com ) know if you'd like to help out. - Holiday party no set for Sunday, December 11th from 5-10. Watch your emal for directions.

: OHRV Safety Course is full! Supplies have been picked up. Donations have been collected (to reserve spot in class and $heldon is giddy again.

Raising: Raffle tix available. - Need a donation solicitation letter? They'll the end of this month. Please $heldon or Newt know if you need one or two or twenty.

Web Site: No report.

UNFINISHED/OLD BUSINESS: Board of Directors (BOD): Three volunteers stepped up to fill the expiring 2-year terms. Thanks to Wayne Labatte, George Lyon and Newt Coryell for taking up the challenge! - Word on insurance is that if we lease our groomer sled we'll get credit for the liability portion of the policy, but it would require a formal, written agreement with the club leasing it. - Rick DiOrio spoke with Marty McLaughlin about leasing the sled. - A motion as made (at this meeting), seconded and carried NOT to lease our sled. - The following people volunteered to secure "door prices" for our OHRV safety class: Bob Scarchilli, Hudson Cycle; Eric M, RJ's and Nashua Polaris.

NEW BUSINESS: Motion made by Eric Mortenson to donate $1000 to the Merrimack Fuel Assistance fund we supported last year. Motion seconded by John Livingston and carried. Eric to draft letter to accompany check informing the administrator of this fund that we hope to be able to donate more as funds allow. - Motion made to donate $100 to Alstead flood relief. Motion seconded by Rick DiOrio and carried by a majority vote.

COUNTY MEETING: Meeting at Hudson on 10/31. Hilites: Trail signs handed out. - Jefferson club will likely disband to avoid a lawsuit against it stemming from the accident that killed a snowmobiler who stuck a stopped groomer. - Warren to Woodstock work crews said to be going out every Sunday. Eric M to contact Jeff Balsh to find out what interested participants can bring for materials and tools. - Next county meeting in Goffstown Youth Center on 11/28 at 7:30.

W/E RIDING PLANS: Plan a ride along you favorite trail. A day trip or overnighter.

Motion made to adjourn meeting around 8:38. Motion was seconded and it carried.
