Merrimack Sno-Buds Snowmobile Club Meeting Minutes 9/14/05 Meeting called to order at 7:40PM by Club President Rick DiOrio NOTICE: The next regular Club meeting is on September 28 at Wasserman Park at 7:30PM. ATTENDANCE: 19 members present. PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: Minutes from March 23, '05 presented. Motion made by Dave Connelly to accept minutes. Motion seconded by Paul Moran and carried. NEW BILLS: None pre$ented. $heldon heard to say "Good thing!". COMMUNICATIONS: NHSA President's meeting announcement (Oct 18 @ Margate; dinner @ 6, Mtg @ 7); Calendar of activities leading up to grass drags; assorted junk mail.. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Trailmaster's Report: 4 wheeler track in great shape! Would make great sno-cross track this winter. Membership: No report. Don't forget to keep your membership current by paying your dues. Publicity: September Sno-Traveler story submitted. Keep those story ideas coming. Eric to get blurbs submitted to local papers. Activities: Valcourt trip discussed (trip report already issued via email). Was said to be very interesting. - NHSA annual meeting, awards given to Sno-Buds: Sno-Traveler for submitting 8 articles last season; Club Activities; plaque for raising over $2500 for Camp Sno-Mo; Chuck & Paula Stata, Snowmobiling Family of the Year; Sheldon Kolansky, Snowmobiler of the Year; Rachel Labrecque, honored as the outgoing NHSA Treasurer. - George Lyon planning trip to Canada this season (March 2-4); see www.snobuds.com for more info - Ride-In will be in Lancaster this season. Denny Townson has rooms reserved for us. Contact him if you need one! - Sno-Buds will host January 2006 county meeting (that's a Monday and it will start at 7:30). Eric to arrange refreshments and for use of hall. Safety: December 3rd is the date for our OHRV Safety Course and it will be held at Law Motor Freight. Instructors are asked to keep this date open. Fund Raising: Funds for the 2006 Ride-In continue to be graciously accepted. Keep all your efforts going! Web Site: April avg 110 visits/day; Jun avg 88 visits/day; September avg 107 visits/day. Big hitters: Dealers and Trailers. UNFINISHED/OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: Motion made to pay $5 registration fee for club's grooming sled. Sheldon suggested that Roland get the sled registered and present the receipt for reimbursement. COUNTY MEETING: Ribbon cutting ceremony for Woodstock to Wentworth trail held! Will reportedly be open this winter and will include 59 bridges! - 89,580 OHRVs registered last year (sleds & ATVs); 37,000 by residents; 49,610 by non-club members; 17,000 by non-residents - Grants: Equipment = $1.56million; Construction & Maintenance = $1.346million - 200 campers attended Camp Sno-Mo this past summer! NH F&G had stocked pond, but no fish were caught! - Super Raffle will have 2 sleds (a 500 & a 600 Ski-Doo) and 2 covered trailers - Maine will extend reciprocity to NH snowmobilers traveling thru Evan's Notch - Lawsuit brought by family whose son was killed when he struck a parked groomer and died; they're going after groomer operator. - Snow Slickers open house (was already held September 24th) - Vintage Swap held on 9/17. - Next County Meeting was held 9/26 in Weare. W/E RIDING PLANS: Watch your email. Now would be a great time to think about sponsoring a ride this season. Got a favorite day trip or over-nighter? Set it up and they will come. The only catch would be that if Newt is along for the ride, you MUST plan the lunch stop to be within 5 minutes of straight-up noon. A minute or two beyond that and it could be ugly! Prior to adjournment, the flags were brought into the meeting room and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion made to adjourn meeting around 8:30.
