Fund Raisning Our club partakes in fund raising for Easter Seals and local charities. The largest part of our fund raising is for Easter Seals. It comprises several elements which in 2000 and 2001 added up to over $52,000. The major elements are: recycling aluminum beverage cans, asking local businesses for donations, partaking in the Easter Seals auto auction, asking each member of the Sno-Buds to contribute at least $20, and a local business has dedicated the income from one function of their business to Easter Seals. Recycling Cans - Last year's (2001) donation included about $1000 in recycled beverage cans. That amounted to handling over 90,000 cans, delivering to a local drop point, finding a place that will buy them in bulk and delivering them in bulk. If you have cans please contact us or Newt 603-424-4584 Donation Requests - We also print several hundred letters to local businesses asking for donations. Instead of mailing them, we have them hand delivered by someone that deals with that company and they ask for the donation on the spot. We also follow up with a thank you letter after the ride-in. This year we are considering a web page to advertise for the business who would like to be included. If you have would be willing to help us, please contact us or Sheldon 978-692-8273 Car Donations - We have started the 'Donate your old car to Easter Seals' campaign and have had people donate several cars. The cars are auctioned at Grappone Auto and the proceeds go to Easter Seals. The person donating the car gets to write it off as a contribution on their income taxes. You determine the fair market value for your deduction (within reasonable guidelines). If you have a car you would like to donate please contact us or call Chuck 603-888-4524. You May also contact Conrad Lafond 603-621-3411 of Easter Seals. Either we will transport it for you or Easter Seals will come pick it up. If you deal directly with Conrad please tell him the vehicle came through the Sno-Buds Snowmobile club. The car sort of has to work and be somewhat complete. Club Members - We also contact each of our club members and ask for donations. We also inquire if their employer have a matching contribution policy we can take advantage of. Lastly one of our local businesses has dedicated their income from one of their lines to Easter Seals. |
